From the interpreter, Ueda announced his readiness for his shot at the title and said he is training very hard in his pursuit to be hailed as the best fighter in his weight class. Fernandes, on the other hand, stated that the title will stay in his waist and no one can take it away from him.
In a featherweight clash, "Ruthless" Rob Lisita of Australia will face Japanese fighter Yusuke Kawanago in a highly anticipated rematch as the featured under card fight. Lisita promised to come forward and ‘beat the hell’ out of his opponent. "I’m a different fighter from the first time we met and if Kawanago will not run, somebody will be hurt seriously," said Lisita. Kawanago shot back saying that even if the two fighters fought 100 times, the result will be the same. "I’ll walk away the victor," Kawango exclaimed.
Local boy Eugene Toquero will also battle top flyweight Gianni Subba. Toquero said, "I dont have game plan in all of my fights, I will just come forward and beat you up." Subba answered with some advice for Toquero and told him to "stop worrying about his hair, because he will pull it with him from pillar to post". Even One FC’s top brass Victor Cui couldn’t lay a finger on Toquero’s hair when he attempted and was told "Don’t dare touch my hair or else,".
Cui curiously pointed out that the card was absent of any known mma grappler from the Philippines, an obvious tease pointing toward the likes of Edward Folayong, Geje Estaquio and Kevin Bellingon. Cui will be announcing other participants in the card in the coming days.
One FC big boss also gave praise to the other MMA organization like the URCC and PXC for molding MMA Fighters in the country and that if they step in the One FC octagon, it will be where they can truly test their mettle against the best fighters.
