Dr. Isagani Leal is the first Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation Medicine Specialist in the country. He has a subspecialty in Rehabilitation Medicine which focuses in the non-surgical minimally invasive image guided interventions for the treatment of musculoskeletal pains and sports injuries.

He finished Medicine from MCU-FDTMF College of Medicine in 1994.

Dr. Leal acquired his specialty training in the Tel Aviv University-Sheba Medical Center, Tel Aviv Israel in 2004-2008. At present, he is the Director of the Center for Musculoskeletal Science- Asia, a one-stop-shop center for the treatment of musculoskeletal pains and other sports injuries.

This is also where the newly opened Sports Performance Enhancement training gym for athletes and sports enthusisasts alike. SPEG is the very first of its kind in the country

SPORTS PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT TRAINING FACILITY that provide state-of-the-art and cutting-edge sports equipment to help athletes, tri-athletes and sports enthusiasts improve their skills to achieve their highest potential.

As the first Filipino certified AIBA Ringside Physician and the Member of International AIBA Medical Board Committee, Dr. Isagani Leal’s distinguished and sterling track record in sports medicine include a concurrent role as the Sports Physician of the ABAP Philippine Boxing Team, GILAS Pilipinas National Basketball TEAM and PBAs Talk and Text, Meralco Bolts  Rain or Shine and FEU Athletes.



Nowadays, it’s not just the height, muscle tone or body build that guarantee athletes will turn into winners or champions when they enter the arena, competing for the prize, prestige in many international sports competition, but the revolutionary training method that is being used now for over 5 years in the US, CANADA, GERMANY.

Speed, agility, endurance, stamina, power and energy – and so much more. These traits are very much desired by athletes when they undergo training. Training methodologies and modalities have evolved over decades to respond real-time to boost training needs of individual athletes in their respective sports activity for maximum results.

And now, through the efforts of Dr. Isagani Leal, president and founder of  Center For Musculoskeletal Science-Asia (CMS-Asia), a distinguished Filipino surgeon who had specialized trainings in sports rehab in US, Israel, has brought this technology to the country to help our Filipino athletes will gain competitive leverage amongst other players in other countries.

Imagine climbing up the mountain without going to Baguio or the Swiss alps. Or swimming …without water? Or feeling the gust and rush of the cool breeze on your face as you pedal your sights on achieving your mark – without experiencing heatstroke.

The CMS-Asia SPORTS PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT GYM has all the equipment and regimen with the experts and trainors’ guidance and supervision – for the athletes to really ‘get the feel’ of actual training at the site, just like our very own Pambansang Kamao does.

The CMSA-Asia SPORTS PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT GYM utilizes technological advancements from Germany, US, CANADA, ISRAEL, KOREA – the first of its kind here – sophisticated, very high-end training equipment intended specifically for those :

· serious athletes/tri-athletes who are training for the Olympics, Sea games, palarong Pambansa, etc.

· with muscle injury/ies for rehab patients

· Triathletes,sports enthusiasts It is not like any fitness gym because the very nature of the training involves the inividual’s progressive development not just of the muscles but of the endurance, tension, speed, stamina, and via simulation of each sports activity the athlete can actually, real-time know how he is progressing and respond accordingly to improve.

In 2009, the CMS-Asia was opened to serve as a hub, and has grown to be the ultimate one- stop-center for the treatment of musculoskeletal pains, spinal problems, and Sport injuries in the Philippines

How doe’s it feel when you represent your country or your district for a sports competition?? I was one of the representative for a badminton player during my high school time and to compete in different school. It feels good when you compete for your school or for your district in sport, but what happens if you accidentally twist one of your leg due to your sport game? how fast can you recover and where would you like to rehabilitate your injury?

Just this last 30th of April CMS Asia – Sports Performance Enhancement Gym at Hollywood Square formally launch the first ever gym that will cater Filipino Athlete to rehabilitate their injury and to enhance more about their  sports skills for FREE. SPEG is one of a kind gym to give hope to our injured Filipino Athlete, with the help Dr. Isagani Leal our Filipino Athlete will be enhance in due time. Dr. Leal wanted to offer his services for free to our Filipino Athlete in return for his scholarship in Israel with also the help of our Philippine Government.

Dr. Isagani Leal focuses his medical field for these kind of sport injury, and in his heart and advocacy to help our filipino athlete.
